Neil PepeNeil Pepe

Artistic Director of New York’s Atlantic Theater Company.

Neil Pepe, artistic director of New York’s Atlantic Theater Company, discusses the development of the company as an outgrowth of acting classes led by playwright David Mamet and actor William H. Macy; his own introduction to the company as both carpenter and actor; the Atlantic’s acclaimed work with playwright Martin McDonagh on his American debut, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and — almost a decade later — The Lieutenant of Inishmore; and how the Atlantic came to produce its most expensive production and first-ever musical, Spring Awakening.

Original airdate - March 16, 2007.
Running time - 42:17.
