Valerie Harper
VALERIE HARPER most recently appeared on the New York stage in the Off-Broadway productions of All Under Heaven, a one woman play which she co-wrote, and in Death Defying Acts by Elaine May and Woody Allen. Broadway: Paul Sills' Story Theater and Metamorphoses, Carl Reiner's Something Different, Subways Are for Sleeping, Wildcat, Take Me Along, Destry Rides Again, Li'l Abner. Regional theater: All Under Heaven, The Dragon and the Pearl, Sills and Company, Agnes of God, Dear Liar, Lunchtime and Halloween, Story Theater, Second City, Come Blow Your Horn. Television series: The Office, City, Valerie, Rhoda and The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Rhoda Morgenstern (four Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Award, Harvard's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year and Hollywood Women's Press Club Golden Apple Awards). Television specials: Neil Simon's The Trouble with People, Norman Lear's I Love Liberty. The Shadow Box directed by Paul Newman, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Innocence on Trial. She has starred in 18 television films and appeared as a special guest star on Sex and the City, Family Law, Three Sisters, That '70s Show, Touched by an Angel, Promised Land, Melrose Place, Missing Persons, Perry Mason. Feature films: Blame It on Rio; Chapter Two; Freebie and the Bean; Last Married Couple in America; Li'l Abner; Rock, Rock, Rock. Since 1977 Ms. Harper has been an active participant in the Hunger Project, a strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. She is married to producer Tony Cacciotti, and they have a daughter, Christina.
