MICHAEL PARVA is the producer of Mark Medoffs Prymate with Chase Mishkin. As the founder of The Directors Company, the nonprofit theatre company in New York City, he has developed and produced numerous workshops and over 50 productions of new works including Kilt with Tovah Feldshuh; Bat Boy: The Musical; The Passion of Frida Kahlo with Priscilla Lpez; Good Will with Dana Reeve, from Jane Smiley’s novella; and Joyce Carol Oates’ Bad Girls. As a director, he has had the privilege of working with many exceptional playwrights, including most recently: Stephen Belber (Drifting Elegant), Bridget Carpenter (The Faculty Room), Melissa James Gibson (Brooklyn Bridge), David Auburn (The Latecomer); Bill C. Davis (Avow); and Marsha Norman (Trudy Blue). His next directing project is Some Things That Can Go Wrong At 35,000 Ft. by John Orlock.Mr. Parva is also co-Artistic Director of The Harold Prince Musical Theatre Program at The Directors Company (developing new musicals which have included Eliot NessIn Cleveland, The Ballad of Little Jo, Camila, Heading East, 3hree). He is a member of the Actors’ Studio Playwrights & Directors Unit and is the resident director of the National Arts Club’s prestigious Kesselring Prize for playwrights.
