MICHAEL McKEAN is currently appearing in Woody Allen's A Second Hand Memory. He made his New York theatrical debut in Rupert Holmes' Accomplice (1990 Theater World Award) and recently concluded a five-month run as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray. He studied acting at Carnegie Mellon University and at NYU with Olympia Dukakis and Lloyd Richards before joining Harry Shearer and David L. Lander in the Los Angeles satirical squad The Credibility Gap. McKean has also appeared as a regular on Laverne & Shirley, Saturday Night Live, Dream On, Sessions, Tracy Takes On and Martin Short's Primetime Glick. Among his many TV guest appearances: Friends, Murphy Brown, The Simpsons, The X-Files, Law & Order, and most recently as Perry White on Smallville. Film: Steven Spielberg's 1941; Used Cars; Young Doctors In Love; This Is Spinal Tap (on which McKean shared screenwriting and composing credits); Clue; Light of Day; Coneheads; The Brady Bunch Movie; Jack; True Crime; and many others including Christopher Guest's The Big Picture (also co-wrote), Best In Show and A Mighty Wind, for which McKean and his wife, actress Annette O'Toole, composed the Oscar-nominated A Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow. He also collaborated with Guest and Eugene Levy on the title song of that film, which won a Grammy this year.
