KATE MAGUIRE is the Executive Director at Berkshire Theatre Festival, and served as the organization’s Managing Director from 1995-1997. During that time Ms. Maguire was responsible for the fiscal management of the organization, which included the Main Stage, the Unicorn Theatre and BTF PLAYS!, the educational component of the program. In 1998 when she assumed the position of Executive Director, a position that combines the traditional responsibilities of both the managing and artistic directors, her responsibilities expanded to include all artistic programming, as well as managing the development department, cultivating donors and working within the community as a cultural leader. Ms. Maguire helped oversee the construction of The Berkshire Theatre Festival’s Unicorn Theatre, which has a strong commitment to providing a home for the next generation of theatre artists. She has developed and successfully transferred several BTF productions to Broadway and off-Broadway Theatres in to New York City including, Cowgirls, Over The River and Through the Woods, Visiting Mr. Green, An Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Boeuf and Smell of the Kill. In addition to her administrative work, Ms. Maguire is an accomplished actor. Ms. Maguire sits on the Berkshire Visitors Bureau Cultural Strategic Planning Board, the Board of the Massachusetts Advocates for the Arts, Sciences and Humanities and is a well-known public speaker. A native of Lowell, MA, Ms. Maguire graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and now lives in Richmond, MA.
