JEREMY McCARTER is the chief theatre critic of New York magazine. He is a contributing editor at The New Republic, and his writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian (UK), MTV Magazine, and The New York Sun, where he served as chief theatre critic. In the theater, he has worked as an adapter, director, and dramaturg. He studied history at Harvard.
