For nearly five decades Isabelle Stevenson was involved in the American Theatre Wing. For 37 of those years she served as either President or Chairman of the Board. It was during her tenure that many of the Wing's programs were instituted, programs such as the "Working in the Theatre" seminars and the "Guide to Careers in Theatre". Isabelle passed away in December 2003. She was always an untiring advocate for "excellence in the theatre" and was constantly trying to find ways to bring new audiences, especially children, to the theatre.
In 2003, as part of the CUNY-TV series "Women In Theatre", Linda Winer interviewed Isabelle. We are happy to be able to make available those interviews here on our website.

In 1983 Isabelle Stevenson was interviewed by Arlene Francis for a radio program on Voice of America. On that program they discussed the origins of the American Theatre Wing, it's programs and the 1982/1983 Tony Award nominations.
